As the owner of a lending and real estate acquisitions firm, our co-founder, Garrett Keillor, understands exactly how difficult it can be to run your own business. He found himself struggling most with simple and repetitive daily tasks, so he decided to hire a virtual assistant.

He soon discovered that the majority of companies providing similar services had inconsistent sourcing methods and limited customer service, motivating him to create change in the industry.

  • Am I working with real humans, or AI?
    Here at Scale, we choose not to utilize any form of artificial intelligence; you will work only with fellow humans. We believe that corners can be cut too easily without the sharp eye of a trained human employee. We will never implement AI simply to cut back on costs.
  • Where do you source your talent?
    We hire all over the world. The typical Scale assistant is college-educated, fully fluent in English, and rigorously vetted and trained by our management team. The same managers will continue to supervise your assistant throughout their employment with you.
  • When does my assistant work?
    You are in charge of your assistant's working hours. By default, Scale's services are available for eight hour blocks of time a day, five days a week. The hours within each block must be worked consecutively. You choose the days and blocks that work best for you, whether they match your personal working hours or not.
  • How do you ensure data security?
    Your privacy is of the utmost concern to us. All Scale employees and assistants are required to sign non-disclosure and data security agreements. We do not allow non-essential parties to view any of your personal information. A portion of our assistant training is dedicated to understanding the best practices of data security, including confidentiality, data integrity, and data availability. All of our assistants come to you with an intimate understanding of the following five-step process: Identify — Understand and document cybersecurity risks to your systems, people, assets, data and capabilities. Protect — Implement appropriate security controls and other measures to protect your most critical assets against cyber threats. Detect — Quickly spot actions and events that could pose a risk to your data security. Respond — Have tested procedures ready to enable prompt response to cybersecurity incidents. Recover — Implement strategies for ensuring you can quickly restore data and services impacted by a security incident.
  • Do I have to worry about any hidden charges?
    Absolutely not. You will only ever pay either the fixed buy-out rate or the pre-determined hourly rate for your assistant's services. We will never charge you for anything else.
  • Will I be able to interview candidates or select my own assistant?
    We understand that handing over the reins can be difficult when it comes to choosing your next employee. We have a proven screening, interviewing, and matching system that will pair you with the perfect candidate for you, saving you time before your time-saving assistant has even been hired. Scale has a 100% satisfaction guarantee, so in the unlikely event that you aren't happy with the candidate we selected for you, we will find you a replacement free of charge.
  • How many accounts is my assistant working on at once?
    Your assistant is 100% dedicated to you and your team. They will not be working for or assigned to any other accounts.
  • How do I pay my assistant?
    Scale manages payroll services for you from beginning to end. You are not charged any additional fees for international processing.
  • What if I am looking to fill a role not specifically listed on your website?
    We are capable of highly specialized staffing. Our website details the most commonly filled positions at our agency, but we're confident we can fill almost any assistant role you can think of — try us!
